Switching platforms at Addison Rd Station and other construction updates

Over the past week, the Platform Improvement Project team reached an important milestone with the major reconstruction work now finished on the first half of the platform at Addison Rd Station. While other minor work remains, including installation of security cameras, edge lighting, pylons and station signage, this is a significant milestone for the project team because it means they can now move over and begin platform reconstruction work on the second half of the platform. Addison Rd

With work wrapping up on the first half of the platform, crews have moved the majority of their work to the opposite side of the platform over the weekend. On this side, crews will follow the same process they did on the first half of the platform, beginning with demolishing the existing tiles. Then, crews will move to install the granite edges, pour the topping slab and install slip-resistant tiles and customer experience improvements.

Arlington Cemetery

Here, crews have finished pouring and leveling the topping slab, which allows them to begin installing the slip-resistant tiles on the platform. The project team is also installing new fixtures on the platform like edge lighting, pylons and the public address system. Over the next two weeks, crews will install the granite bases for the pylons, test the electrical systems to prepare for installation of the customer experience improvements and finish painting the station.
