Status

Three escalators at Entrance C (9th St, L’Enfant Plaza) are being replaced. Expected completion is August 2026. During construction, one escalator will be closed at a time. All entrances and the elevator are open.

In January 2024, Metro began a major capital project replacing the four entrance escalators and four platform escalators at Rosslyn Station.

On June 5, 2023, Metro began a major capital project to install two canopies above the station escalators at Arlington Cemetery. One canopy will be installed at the station’s north entrance on the north side of Memorial Drive, and one canopy will be installed at the station’s south entrance on the south side of Memorial Drive.

In January 2026, Metro began replacing one platform escalator and one entrance escalator with new models that are more durable and reliable.

Crystal City station will be closed over ten separate weekends until June 2026 as part of the Crystal City second entrance construction project. During impacted weekends, Metro will provide free shuttle buses at impacted stations.
