Here is a summary of Metrorail service changes for Saturday, April 28 & Sunday, April 29 to allow for safety and maintenance work:

Highlights

  • Orange, Silver and Blue line trains operate every 24 minutes with Silver Line trains Wiehle-Reston East to Ballston only
  • Red Line trains operate every 28 minutes
  • Yellow and Green line trains operate every 15 minutes with Yellow Line trains Huntington to Mt Vernon Sq only

Weeknight service adjustments


Red Line Red Line
Trains every 28 minutes

Updated: Single tracking between Farragut North and Union Station to allow for installation of cable/communication equipment to support cellular service in tunnels and new radio system.


Orange Line Orange Line
Trains every 24 minutes

Single tracking between Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory to allow for rail readjustment maintenance work.


Silver Line Silver Line
Trains every 24 minutes, Wiehle-Reston East to Ballston

Silver Line trains will operate every 24 minutes between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston only. Customers traveling to/from other stations should use Orange and/or Blue line trains to complete their trip. At Ballston, transfer between Silver and Orange line trains on the same platform.


Blue Line Blue Line
Trains every 24 minutes

Single tracking between Eastern Market and Stadium-Armory to allow for rail readjustment maintenance work.


Yellow Line Yellow Line
Trains every 15 minutes Huntington to Mt Vernon Square only

Yellow Line trains will operate every 15 minutes between Huntington & Mt Vernon Sq only. Customers traveling to/from stations north of Mt Vernon Sq should use the Green Line to complete their trip.

Green Line Green Line
Trains every 15 minutes

Single tracking between Southern Avenue and Naylor Road to allow for rail, fastener and stud renewal.
