Weekend service adjustments March 24-26 for scheduled maintenance

Advisory Effective: 3/20/17 - 3/26/17

Metro will perform maintenance work over the weekend of March 24-26 to keep trains operating safely and reliably.


  • Red, Orange, Silver and Green line trains operate at regular weekend intervals.
  • Blue and Yellow line trains operate every 24 minutes due to SafeTrack Surge #13.

SafeTrack Surge #13 - Continuous single tracking between Braddock Road and Van Dorn Street | through April 12

  • Every 24 minutes between Franconia-Springfield & Largo Town Center.
  • Friday from 10:00 p.m. through closing buses replace trains between Braddock Road, King St-Old Town, Van Dorn Street and Franconia-Springfield stations.

Yellow Line Yellow Line
SafeTrack Surge #13 - Continuous single tracking between Braddock Road and Huntington | through April 12

  • Yellow Line trains will operate every 24 minutes between Huntington and Mt. Vernon Square.
  • Additional trains will operate between National Airport and Mt. Vernon Square.
  • Customers traveling to/from stations north of Mt. Vernon Square should use a Green Line train to complete their trip.
  • Friday from 10:00 p.m. through closing, buses replace trains between Braddock Road, King Street, Eisenhower Avenue and Huntington stations

  • Before traveling, consult the trip planner at wmata.com to check the special schedule and reduce your wait time. Trip Planner is updated to reflect weekend rebuilding schedules on Fridays; please check on Friday afternoon or later.
