Weekend service adjustments December 9-11 for rebuilding
Advisory Effective: 12/5/16 - 12/11/16
Reconstruction of the Metrorail system will continue over the weekend of December 9-11 with service adjustments on four of six lines. Trains will operate as follows:
- Yellow and Green line trains will operate at regular weekend intervals.
- Red Line trains will operate every 12-15 minutes.
- Orange, Silver and Blue line trains will operate every 20 minutes with
Silver Line trains operating between Wiehle-Reston East and New
Carrollton.
- SafeTrack Surge 11 continuous single tracking between West Falls Church & East Falls Church through Wednesday, December 21.
Red Line
Trains every 12-15 minutes | 10:00PM Friday through closing Sunday
- On Saturday - every 12 minutes
- On Sunday - every 15 minutes
Saturday 7:00 a.m. through Sunday close, single tracking between NoMa-Gallaudet & Rhode Island Avenue to allow for station repairs.
Orange Line
Trains every 20 minutes | 7:00AM Saturday through closing Sunday
SafeTrack Surge 11 continuous single tracking between West Falls Church and East Falls Church through Wednesday, December 21
Silver Line
Trains every 20 minutes between
Wiehle-Reston East & New Carrollton | 7:00AM Saturday through closing Sunday
SafeTrack Surge 11 continuous single tracking between McLean and East Falls Church through Wednesday, December 21.
Silver Line trains will operate between Wiehle-Reston East and New Carrollton. Customers traveling to/from Largo Town Center should transfer at Stadium-Armory.
Blue Line
Trains every 20 minutes | 7:00AM Saturday through closing Sunday
Saturday from 7:00 a.m. through Sunday close, single tracking between Addison Road & Largo Town Center to allow for communication cable installation.
Yellow Line
Regular weekend service -
Huntington to Fort Totten
Green Line
Regular weekend service
