Routes Affected: 5A, 16E, 31, 32, 36, 38B, 42, 43, 52, 74, P6
Routes 5A, 16E, 31, 32, 36, 38B, 42, 43, 52, 74 and P6 will detour due to the 2021 DC Bike Ride event and festivities. Customers are encouraged to plan and allow additional travel time. Consider transferring to the nearest Metrorail station if possible.
The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic for public safety on Friday, September 24,
2021 at 7:00 p.m. to Saturday, September 25, 2021 at approximately 5:00 p.m.:
- Maryland Ave SW between 3rd St and Independence Ave
- 3rd St between Constitution Ave NW and Independence Ave SW
- Pennsylvania Ave NW between East Crossover and 3rd St
The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic for public safety on Saturday, September 25,
2021 from approximately 6:30 a.m. to approximately 12:00 p.m.:
- Maryland Ave SW between 3rd St and Independence Ave
- Independence Ave SW between 3rd St and 14th St
- 7th St SW between Independence Ave and D St
- D St SW between 7th St and 9th St
- Independence Ave SW between 14th St and 23rd St
- Potomac River Fwy between Ohio Dr SW and Whitehurst Fwy NW
- E St Expy NW between 22nd St and Potomac River Fwy
- Whitehurst Fwy NW between K St and M St
- Rock Creek Pkwy NW between Virginia Ave and Ohio Dr
- Memorial Bridge between George Washington Pkwy and 23rd St SW
- 14th Street Bridge between Virginia and Independence Ave SW
- Ohio Dr SW including all of Haines Point
The following routes will cut back service or detour:
5A DC-Dulles
- Buses will operate between Dulles Airport and Rosslyn Metrorail station.
16E Columbia Pike
- Buses will operate between Culmore and the Pentagon Transit Center.
31 Wisconsin Avenue
- Buses will operate between Friendship Heights Metrorail station and a bus stop located on Pennsylvania Ave NW at L St (stop ID# 1003226).
32, 36 Pennsylvania Avenue
- Buses will operate between Southern Avenue and Naylor Road Metrorail stations and a bus stop located on Pennsylvania Ave NW at 21st St (stop ID# 1001182).
38B Ballston-Farragut Square
- Buses will operate between Ballston-MU and Rosslyn Metrorail stations.
42, 43 Mount Pleasant northbound toward Mount Pleasant
- Buses begin service at a bus stop located on 18th St NW at C St (stop ID# 1000911), resuming regular route on northbound 18th St NW.
42, 43 Mount Pleasant southbound toward the Kennedy Center
- Buses begin detouring on Virginia Ave NW at 19th St, ending service at a bus stop located on 18th St NW at C St (stop ID# 1000911).
52 14th Street northbound toward 14th St & Colorado Ave NW
- Buses beginning service at a bus stop located on 10th St NW at Pennsylvania Ave (stop ID# 1003288), resuming regular route on 14th St NW at F St.
52 14th Street southbound toward L’Enfant Plaza
- Buses begin detouring on Pennsylvania Ave NW at 14th St, ending service at a bus stop located 10th St NW at Pennsylvania Ave (stop ID# 1003288).
74 Convention Center-Southwest Waterfront northbound toward the Convention Center
- Buses begin detouring on Southeast Fwy at 7th St SW, resuming regular route on 7th St NW at E St.
74 Convention Center-Southwest Waterfront southbound toward Buzzard Point
- Buses begin detouring on E St NW at 7th St, resuming regular route on 7th St SW at the Southwest Fwy's entrance.
P6 Anacostia-Eckington northbound toward Rhode Island Avenue
- Buses begin detouring on I St SW at 4th St, resuming regular route on 11th St NW at E St.
P6 Anacostia-Eckington southbound toward Anacostia
- Buses begin detouring on E St NW at 11th St, resuming regular route on I St SW at 4th St.
