40TH ANNUAL CAPITOL HILL CLASSIC 10K/5K, May 15

On Sunday, May 15, several Metro Buses will detour/turnback service due the Annual Capitol Hill Classic Marathon street closures. Please allow additional travel time and avoid the area if possible. Consider Metrorail as an alternate travel option.
Routes Affected: 32, 36, 90, 92, 96, B2, D6
Street closures:
• C St NE from 5th Street, NE to 4th Street, NE
• Maryland Ave from 4th St NE to 2nd St NE/Constitution Avenue
• Constitution from 2nd St NE to 1st St NE
• 1st Street NE from Constitution Avenue to Independence Avenue
• Independence Avenue from 1st St SE to 3rd Street, SE
• 3rd St SE from Independence to East Capitol Street
• East Capitol Street from 3rd St SE to 22nd St NE, going around the Southside of Lincoln Park
• 22nd St NE from East Capitol to the entrance to RFK parking lots 6 & 7
The following routes will detour/turnback service:
32, 36 Pennsylvania Avenue
- Buses east of Capitol Hill will operate between Southern Avenue | Naylor Rd Station and a bus stop located on Pennsylvania Ave SE at 8th St (Eastern Market Stop ID#1000654).
- Buses west of Capitol Hill will operate between Potomac Park and a bus stop located on 10th St NW at Pennsylvania Ave (Stop ID#1003288)
90, 92 U Street- Garfield
- Buses north of Capitol Hill will operate between Duke Ellington Bridge | Reeves Center and a bus stop located on Maryland NE at D St (Stop ID#1000955)
- Buses south of Capitol Hill will operate between Potomac Park | Congress Heights Station and a bus stop located on Pennsylvania Ave SE at 6th St (Stop ID#1000683)
96 East Capitol Street-Cardozo
- Buses east of Capitol Hill will begin to detour on Massachusetts Ave NE at 2nd St, resuming regular route on East Capitol St NE at Benning Rd.
- Buses west of Capitol Hill will begin to detour on East Capitol St NE at Benning Rd, resuming regular route on Massachusetts Ave NE at 2nd St.
B2 Bladensburg Road-Anacostia
- Buses north of Capitol Hill will operate between Mt. Rainer Terminal and a bus stop located on 15th St NE at F St (Stop ID#1001030)
- Buses south of Capitol Hill will operate between Anacostia Station and a bus stop located on 17th St SE at D St (Stop ID #1001618)
D6 Sibley Hosp- Stadium Armory
- Buses will operate between Sibley Hospital and a bus stop located on 15th St NE at C St (Stop ID# 1000899)
