Metrobus will detour in Downtown DC due to first amendment activities. There is a potential for intermittent street closures that will be based on public safety. Sign up for metroAlerts to receive updates. Customers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow additional travel time, and transfer to the nearest Metrorail station whenever possible.
The following routes will detour or cut back service:
30N, 30S Pennsylvania Avenue westbound towards Friendship Height Metrorail Station
33 Wisconsin Avenue northbound towards Friendship Heights Metrorail Station
32, 36 Pennsylvania Avenue westbound towards Potomac Park
- Buses begin detouring on 14th St NW at Pennsylvania Ave, resuming regular route on I St NW at 19th St.
30N, 30S Pennsylvania Avenue eastbound towards Southern Ave and Naylor Rd Metrorail Stations
33 Wisconsin Avenue southbound towards Federal Triangle Metrorail Station
32,36 Pennsylvania Avenue eastbound towards Southern Ave and Naylor Rd Metrorail Stations
- Buses begin detouring on 18th St NW at H St, resuming regular route on Pennsylvania Ave NW at 13th St.
38B Ballston-Farragut Square
- Buses will operate between Ballston-MU Metrorail station and a bus stop located on K St NW at 17th St (bus stop ID #1001229).
42, 43 Mount Pleasant northbound towards Mt Pleasant
- Buses begin detouring on 14th St NW at I St, resuming regular route on Connecticut Ave NW at K St.
- Buses begin detouring on K St NW at Connecticut Ave, resuming regular route on H St NW at 13th St.
G8 Rhode Island Avenue
- Buses will operate between Avondale and a bus stop located on I St NW at 14th St (bus stop ID #1001191).
L2 Connecticut Avenue
- Buses will operate between Chevy Chase Circle and a bus stop located on I St NW at 14th St (bus stop ID #1001191).
S2 16th Street northbound towards Silver Spring Transit Center
S9 16th Street MetroExtra northbound towards Silver Spring Transit Center
- Buses begin detouring on 15th St NW at I St, resuming regular route on 16th St NW at L and M St.
- Buses begin detouring on K St NW at 16th St, resuming regular route on 11th St NW at F St.
Customers are required to wear face coverings on Metrobus. Face coverings may include bandanas, scarves, neck gaiters or homemade coverings easily made from t-shirts and other materials at minimal cost.
