Impacts to Orange, Silver & Blue Line service during Stadium-Armory rehabilitation work

Advisory Effective: 3/18/19 - 3/29/19

Metro is making essential track and structural improvements to the junction outside Stadium-Armory where Orange, Blue, and Silver lines converge. This work involves demolition of the existing track infrastructure, pouring fresh concrete, and installing new rail, fasteners and switches.

This work is underway and will continue through March 29. During this time, Orange, Silver and Blue line trains may experience minor delays when traveling through the work area.

In the event that train congestion develops, Metro’s Rail Operations Control Center may take steps to mitigate delays, including:

  • Turning around selected Silver Line trains at Eastern Market
  • Increasing the time between trains (headway) on each line by up to two minutes

Metro will make every effort to preserve normal service for as many customers as possible. Metro’s 10-minute service guarantee Rush Hour Promise remains in effect for all customers on all lines.
