Metrobus Service Information for Memorial Day 2020, May 25
Advisory Effective: 5/25/20 - 5/25/20
On Memorial Day, Monday, May 25, 2020, Metrobus will operate 27 “lifeline” bus routes for our region’s essential travel needs amid COVID-19. Essential travel includes trips to the doctor or grocery store and should be reserved for essential personnel such as hospital staff, first responders, critical government workers, and individuals involved in helping the community respond to the pandemic, among others.
- Face coverings are required on all buses. Face coverings may include bandanas, scarves, neck gaiters or homemade coverings easily made from t-shirts or other materials at minimal cost. Learn how to make homemade cloth face coverings.
- If you are not feeling well, do not take public transportation. Call your healthcare provider before you leave home and follow their guidance.
- Boarding Change: All customers should enter and exit the bus at the REAR DOOR, except individuals using mobility devices or who require bus kneeling. Fares are waived during this time.
- For your safety: Bus operators may bypass bus stops if the vehicle cannot safely accommodate additional passengers while maintaining adequate social distancing.
- Hospital shuttle service: MetroAccess shuttles will operate between Sibley Hospital, Georgetown University Hospital, Prince Georges Hospital, and nearby Metrorail stations.
- Hours: First bus times vary by route. Bus service will continue until 11 p.m. Last buses depart starting points at or before 11 p.m.
- Buses are scheduled to arrive every 30 minutes unless otherwise noted. Refer to timetables for schedule arrivals and departures.
