Beginning on Friday, June 19, there will be a series of events that will impact bus service in the downtown DC region. Detours are subject to change and will be implemented on an as-needed basis.
Juneteenth and First Amendment Demonstrations | Friday, June 19 thru Sunday, June 21
- SIXNINETEEN: Defend Black Lives – 1pm-7pm (Friday) , 12pm-9pm (Saturday), 12pm-3pm (Sunday)
- March 4 Black Lives National – 1pm-7pm daily (Cancelled)
- 846 Vigil and Protest for Black Lives 6pm-6:09pm nightly for a moment of silence

Street closures will be in effect between approximately 6am and 11:59pm.
1. Sign up for MetroAlerts for up-to-the-minute changes in service.
2. Avoid the area by using Metrorail if possible.
3. Plan ahead of time and expect delays.
4. Face coverings are required when traveling on Metrobus and Metrorail.

Buses will operate between Friendship Heights Metrorail station and Washington Circle.
Buses will operate between Naylor Rd and Southern Ave Metrorail stations and a temporary bus stop located on Independence Ave SW at Washington Ave.
32, 36 Wisconsin Avenue
Buses will operate between Naylor Rd and Southern Ave Metrorail stations and a bus stop located on Independence Ave SE at New Jersey Ave (stop ID# 1000734).
42 Mount Pleasant
Buses will operate between Metro Center and a bus stop located on Connecticut Ave NW at R St (stop ID# 1001574).
54 14th Street
Buses will operate between Takoma Metrorail station and a bus stop located on 14th St NW at P St (stop ID#1001413).
63 Takoma-Petworth
64 Fort Totten-Petworth
Buses will operate between Takoma and Fort Totten Metrorail Stations and a bus stop located on U St NW at 11th St (stop ID# 1001687).
70 Georgia Avenue-7th Street
Buses will operate between Silver Spring Metrorail station and a bus stop located on 7th St NW at N St (stop ID#1001369).
80 North Capitol St
Buses will operate between Fort Totten Metrorail Station and a bus stop located on Massachusetts Ave NE at First St (stop ID# 1003742).
D4 Ivy City-Franklin Square
Buses will operate between Ivy City and a bus stop located on K St NE at 4th St (stop ID# 1001237).
D6 Sibley Hospital Stadium-Armory
Buses will operate between a bus stop on K St NE at 4th St (stop ID# 1001237) and a bus stop located on Massachusetts Ave NW at 20th St (stop ID# 1001473).
G8 Rhode Island Avenue
Buses will operate between Avondale and a bus stop located on 9th St NW at N St (stop ID# 1003696).
S4 16th Street
Buses will operate between Silver Spring Metrorail station and a bus stop located on 16th St NW at P St (stop ID# 1002880).
X2 Benning Rd-H Street
Buses will operate between Minnesota Ave Metrorail station and a bus stop located on H St NW at N. Capitol St (stop ID# 1001135).
The following route will detour:
74 Convention Center-SW Waterfront northbound toward Convention Center
Buses begin detouring on 4th St SW at M St, resuming regular route on 7th St NW at E St.
74 Convention Center-SW Waterfront southbound toward Nationals Park
Buses begin detouring on E St NW at 7th St, resuming regular route on M St SW at 4th St.
