On Saturday, April 30, The People's Climate March will be held in Washington DC and is expected to draw a large number of attendees.

On Saturday, Metrorail trains will operate as follows:

- Free shuttle buses replace Orange and Blue line trains between Foggy Bottom and Federal Triangle.
- Silver Line trains will operate every 20 minutes between Wiehle-Reston East and Ballston only.
- Yellow Line trains operate every 20 minutes between Huntington and Mt. Vernon Square only.
- Free shuttle buses replace Green Line trains between Greenbelt & Prince George's Plaza due to SafeTrack Surge #14.

To avoid shuttle buses between Foggy Bottom and Federal Triangle:
- Blue Line riders in Virginia should use Yellow Line to L'Enfant Plaza instead.
- Orange Line customers from Virginia, should exit at Rosslyn, transfer to a Franconia-Springfield-bound Blue Line train on the lower level, then transfer again at Pentagon to a Mt. Vernon Square-bound Yellow line train to L'Enfant Plaza.
- Street closures between 11:00 & 3:00 p.m. may affect shuttle bus service between
Metro Center & Federal Triangle.
If traveling between RFK Stadium and the March
- Take Blue or Orange line train from Stadium-Armory (located near RFK Stadium) to Federal Center SW.

Routes
30N, 30S, 32, 36, 39, 52, 54 and 74 operate along the perimeter of the Mall at various locations. Use our Trip Planner for specific date and time travel information, as some nearby Metrobus routes operate Monday through Friday only.
Travel Tips
- Avoid lines by loading your SmarTrip card in advance for your entire round trip. Remember that each Metro rider must have a SmarTrip card to enter and exit the system.
- Travel light. Customers are discouraged from bringing large coolers or other bulky items aboard trains.
- Smoking, eating and drinking are prohibited within Metrorail stations or aboard trains.
- Stand back from the platform edge for your safety.
- Do not hold the train doors. They do not operate like elevator doors and will not automatically reopen.
- When boarding the train, step all the way into the car to make room for passengers boarding behind you.
- On Metrorail, it is customary for riders to stand to the right while using escalators.
