Anacostia Station Skylight Work

On June 30, 2025, Metro began to mobilize at Anacostia station to complete nighttime skylight replacement work inside the station after the station is closed. There will be a barricade enclosing scaffolding posts and other necessary equipment. The barricaded equipment storage space will be located to the right of the Escalators and Elevator S03. This will allow Metro to perform repairs to the skylight area above the escalators and tracks.

How will this work affect my trip?

Riders will not be affected by work, as all construction will take place during station closure.

How long will the project take?

The project is scheduled to begin at Anacostia Station on June 30th and be completed by December 31, 2025.
