Metro Service Information for Saturday, June 6

On Saturday, June 6, Metro service operate at follows:

Metrorail:

  • Metrorail will open at 8:00 a.m. and close at 9:00 p.m.

Trains will operate on the following schedule:

  • Red Line Red Line - trains will operate every 10 minutes.
  • Orange Line Orange Line - trains will operate between Ballston and New Carrollton every 15 minutes.
  • Silver Line Silver Line - due to the Platform Improvement Project, there will be no Silver Line service. Customers should use Orange and/or Blue line trains to complete their travel.
  • Blue Line Blue Line - trains will operate every 15 minutes.
  • Yellow Line Yellow Line - trains will operate between Huntington and Greenbelt every 15 minutes
  • Green Line Green Line - trains will operate every 15 minutes.

Previously announced track work resulting in the closure of the Yellow Line bridge has been rescheduled to start on Monday, June 8.

Plan ahead. Several stations near the National Mall are closed due to Metro's Covid-19 pandemic response.

  • To increase capacity and allow for social distancing, the first and last cars of each train will be available for customer use. Maintain social distancing to the extent possible while aboard the train. 
  • Customers are reminded that a face covering is required in all Metro trains, buses and stations. 
  • Customers should buy or load their SmarTrip cards in advance if possible. Each passenger must have his or her own SmarTrip card or One-Day Pass.
  • Metro recommends selecting a destination station on the same line as your origin to avoid the need to transfer.
  • While Metro is increasing service and capacity, we are unable to predict how many people will use the system and at what times. If you are able to walk or use other transportation, you increase social distancing space for others.
  • To maximize space, customers are asked to avoid bringing bikes, large coolers or other bulky items aboard Metro this weekend.

Metrobus:

  • Detours/delays are possible due to First Amendment activity.
  • Due to Metro's Covid-19 pandemic response, Metrobus is operating with reduced service. 
  • All customers should enter and exit the bus at the rear door, except individuals using mobility devices or require bus kneeling. Fares are waived during this time.
