Platform Improvement Project
Spring 2021 Travel Alternatives Now Available
The next phase of Metro's Platform Improvement Project will repair and reconstruct platforms at two stations on the Blue Line (Addison Rd and Arlington Cemetery) from February 13-May 23. During this time, free shuttle bus service will be available.
In addition, there will be no Blue Line service. Additional Yellow Line trains will replace Blue Line trains between Franconia-Springfield and Mt Vernon Sq. Silver Line trains will continue to pass through but not serve Addison Rd while the station is closed to minimize service impacts outside the construction area.
Project Passes 50% Completion Mark
The Platform Improvement Project has passed the halfway mark, with 11 of 20 total stations now completed. Below is a link to virtual walkthrough videos of the four stations completed at the end of Summer 2020 (Vienna, Dunn Loring, West Falls Church & East Falls Church).
