Extended Metrorail Service for Sporting Events
Sports fans rejoice, as many return to local ballparks, stadiums and arenas to cheer on the region’s professional sports teams, Metro will be there to get you home if a game goes beyond Metro’s normal closing time.
Metro will “flex” service for an additional 30 minutes after a game ends or until Midnight, whichever comes first, for fans to get home. Any customer in line by that time may enter the station for travel.
The Metrorail station closest to the ballpark, stadium or arena will be the only station open for customers to enter. All other Metrorail stations will be exit only.
If service is being extended, fans will be notified inside the ballpark, stadium or arena and through MetroAlerts, our email and text message service. Sign up now and choose the rail lines you wish to receive notifications for, or verify in your account settings you're signed up to receive "Late Night" alerts on game days.
