Metro Policy on Tour Bus Parking/Access
Metro stations are designed to accommodate private automobile drop-off ("kiss & ride") and authorized transit buses, such as Metrobus and other local transit services.
Unfortunately, Metro stations do not have space for tour buses to park or stand for extended periods of time.
For safety and capacity reasons, privately operated tour/charter buses are not permitted to use bus access roadways or other bus facilities at Metro stations, which require special training for bus operators and have scheduled arrival times to manage traffic.
There are many authorized tour bus discharge locations near Metro stations in the District of Columbia. Tour bus operators are strongly encouraged to follow the detailed guidance provided on the District of Columbia's website.
