The Washington Metrorail Safety Commission (WMSC) conducts three-year audit cycles that separately evaluates each Metrorail functional area in accordance with 49 CFR § 674.31 and the WMSC Compact. Once an audit is complete, the WMSC supplies a draft audit report to WMATA which articulates a summary of the audit findings and recommendations.
