Parking Garage Rehabilitation Projects

Overview

Metro’s goal is to ensure its 27 parking garages remain in a state of good repair while providing the safest and most reliable transportation service possible.

Parking garage rehabilitation projects generally involve some or all of the following activities: parking space restriping, repainting curbs, refreshing customer signage, power washing walls, repairing concrete and joints, cleaning and sealing corrosive structural elements and installation of traffic-bearing membranes. Parking garage rehabilitation projects are prioritized by age of garage, garage compliance with existing parking standards and benefits to the customer. All parking garage improvements include any upgrades needed to ensure compliance with current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

Projects generally take 1 to 2 years, depending on the specific parking facility and construction required. During construction, customers may experience changes including traffic detours, walking detours, and parking closures. All customers are asked to follow posted safety signs during construction.
