Metrobus service route changes in the District of Columbia begin last week in December: Most schedule adjustments designed to improve service

Several service changes on Metrobus will be implemented on 21 lines in the District of Columbia starting in December 28. They are listed below.70, 71 Georgia Avenue-7th Street Line. Weekday morning and afternoon peak hour bus times will change to reflect current bus travel times.90, 92, 93 U Street-Garfield Line. At the request of the McLean Gardens Condominium Association and Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) 3C, buses will be rerouted to improve safety on neighborhood streets. Northbound buses will follow the regular route to Wisconsin and Idaho Avenues, NW, then turn left on Idaho Avenue and left on Newark Street to the terminal on the south side of the street. The southbound route and schedule will not change.A2, A6, A7, A8, A42, A46, A48 Anacostia-Congress Heights Line. Weekday, Saturday, and holiday schedules will change to better serve customers. On weekdays between 6:30 and 8:30 a.m., northbound A2 buses will be changed to run every 10 minutes, and northbound A6 and A7 buses will run every six to eight minutes on the combined A6 and A7 routes. Southbound A8 buses will be changed to run every 10 minutes between 3:30 and 6 p.m. Between 5 and 6 p.m., southbound buses will run every eight minutes on the combined A6 and A7 routes.A4, A5 Anacostia-Fort Drum Line. The weekday schedule will change. One additional A4 bus will leave Anacostia station on weekdays between 6 and 7 p.m. On Saturdays, buses will run every 24 minutes between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m., and one additional bus will leave D.C. Village at 6:23 a.m. On Sundays, a bus will leave D.C. Village at 6:21 a.m. Buses which leave Anacostia Metrorail station on Sundays at 11:57 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. will be extended to D.C. Village. On weekends, buses which leave D.C. Village between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. will loop through the complex to provide service to the hypothermia unit.H1 Brookland-Potomac Park Line. Buses which leave Brookland-CUA Metrorail station at 6:36, 6:53 and 7:10 a.m. will be changed to leave at 6:30, 6:48,and 7:07 a.m. Northbound buses will run every 20 minutes. Northbound buses will leave C and 17th Streets, NW, at 4:20, 4:40, 5, 5:20, 5:42, and 6:02 p.m.N2, N4, N6 Massachusetts Avenue Line. Two additional weekday buses will run in each direction between 7 and 9:30 p.m. to reduce overcrowding on some buses. Westbound buses will leave Farragut Square at 7 (N2), 7:10 (N4), 7:28 (N2), 7:40 (N4), 7:58 (N2), 8:10 (N4), 8:32 (N6), 8:54 (N6), and 9:16 (N6) p.m. Eastbound buses will leave Friendship Heights at 7:03 (N4), 7:18 (N2), 7:33 (N4), 7:47 (N6), 8:09 (N6), 8:31 (N6), 8:53 (N6), and 9:24 (N6) p.m.S2, S4 16th Street Line. On weekdays, southbound buses which arrive at Federal Triangle at 7:32, 8:44, and 9:06 a.m. will be changed to end at 14th and I Streets, NW (McPherson Square Metrorail station). An additional southbound S2 bus will leave 14th Street and Missouri Avenue, NW, at 8:58 a.m. going to Federal Triangle.X3 Benning Road Line.
