Metro opens new parking structure at Franconia-Springfield Metrorail station

Tomorrow, Friday, October 10, Metro will open its new expanded parking structure at the Franconia-Springfield Metrorail station, adding an additional 1,000 parking spaces, bringing the number of parking spaces available to 5,100. Customers will be able to use the new facility for the first time starting Friday morning.

The new Franconia-Springfield parking structure, which broke ground in June 2002, adds six-levels of above-ground parking that connect to the east side of the original six-level parking structure above the short-term parking area. A new ground-level 90-space Kiss & Ride area will also open with areas for taxi and shuttle bus operations.
