Metro to introduce the Y31 Metrobus route Monday, March 3

To provide expanded Metrobus service for Yorktown High School in Arlington, VA, Metrobus is introducing the Y31 bus line on Monday, March 3.

Currently, two 38B Metrobus trips run from Washington-Lee High School to Farragut Square on school days between March 3 and May 31. The second bus trip primarily serves high school students at Yorktown High School.

Now, the Y31 will depart at 3:25 p.m., weekdays from the ART bus stop in front of Yorktown High School (south side of Yorktown Boulevard, west of 30th Street), continue via Yorktown Boulevard, taking a right on George Mason Drive, then a left on Washington Boulevard to the bus terminal stand at Quincy Street, arriving at 3:35 p.m. Upon its arrival at Quincy Street, the bus will change its identification sign to 38B and continue its trip to Farragut Square.

The regular Metrobus fare, $1.35 for cash, $1.25 for SmarTrip users will apply to the Y31 route.

The new route was established at the request of Arlington County Public Schools through the Arlington County Department of Transportation.
