Metrobus service changes in Virginia begin June 24

Service changes on Metrobus will be implemented on nine lines in Virginia beginning June 24. The changes are in response to customer requests and will improve service reliability.

3T Pimmit Hills Line
Service via Colshire Drive will be discontinued. Weekday morning (eastbound) and afternoon (westbound) buses will continue on Dolley Madison Boulevard and will serve bus stops at Colshire Drive/Scotts Crossing Road.

3A, 3B, 3E Lee Highway Line
Weekday trip times will be adjusted to reflect current traffic conditions and improve schedule adherence.

9S Crystal City-Potomac Yard Shuttle
Weekday trip times will be adjusted to reflect current traffic conditions and improve schedule adherence.

9A Huntington-Pentagon Line
The 8:56 p.m. bus from Huntington Metrorail station on weekdays will leave at 8:58 p.m. to make it easier for customers who transfer from the 8:56 p.m. REX bus.

16A,16B, 16D, 16F, 16J Columbia Pike Line
The weekday schedule will change. All eastbound buses will pass Walter Reed Drive every two to three minutes between 6 and 9 a.m.

16G, 16H, 16W Columbia Heights West-Pentagon City Line
Weekday morning (eastbound) trip times will be adjusted to space trips more evenly along Columbia Pike. Along with Routes 16A,B,D,F,J and 16Y, the combined eastbound frequency of service on Columbia Pike will be every two to three minutes, passing Walter Reed Drive between 6 and 9 a.m.

16Y Columbia Pike-Farragut Square Line
The 7:02 a.m. bus from Four Mile Run Drive and Columbia Pike will leave at 7:01 a.m.

1B, 1C, 1D, 1E, 1F, 1Z Wilson Boulevard-Fairfax Line
The Wilson Boulevard-Fairfax Line will be restructured into two lines.

1A, 1B, 1E, 1F, 1Z Wilson Boulevard Line
Service will run between Ballston-MU station, Dominion Hills, Seven Corners, Fairview Park, Dunn Loring-Merrifield station, Inova Fairfax Hospital and Vienna/Fairfax-GMU station.

1A buses will run seven days a week. On weekdays and Saturdays, buses will run every 30 minutes and every 60 minutes on Sundays. 1B buses (peak hour only) will run every 30 to 45 minutes. 1F will run after 9:30 p.m. every day and all day on Sundays. On Sundays, service between Ballston and Seven Corners (1A and 1F combined) will run every 30 minutes. Weekday 1Z, limited stop, peak hour buses will run every 30 minutes between Ballston-MU and Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metrorail stations (eastbound morning, westbound evening). No stops are served between Ballston-MU Metrorail station and Wilson Boulevard and Livingston Street.

1C Fair Oaks-Dunn Loring Line
1C will run seven days a week between Dunn Loring-Merrifield Metrorail station and Fair Oaks Mall. Buses will run every 30 to 45 minutes during weekday peak hours and every 60 minutes in off peak hours and on weekends.

Coordinated 1A and 1C bus times will facilitate transfers at Inova Fairfax Hospital for customers going to or from Fair Oaks Mall. Service between Fair Oaks Mall and Inova Fair Oaks Hospital will be discontinued, replaced by Fairfax Connector Route 605.

REX Richmond Highway Express Line
The 8:30 p.m. weeknight bus from Fort Belvoir will be leave at 8:28 p.m. Buses will begin/end at Richmond Highway and Old Mill Road after 8:30 p.m. because of new base security measures. Southbound buses that end at Old Mill Road will be renamed Woodlawn. Without valid federal or state-issued photo ID, customers will not be permitted to remain on the bus as it travels on the military base. Riders will have to wait outside the base for the next northbound bus.
