Metro service information for Thanksgiving weekend, November 22-25

During Thanksgiving weekend, November 22 - 25, Metro will operate on the following schedule:

Thanksgiving Day

Metrorail: Trains will run on a Sunday schedule on Thanksgiving Day with no scheduled track work. The system will open at 8 a.m. and close at 11 p.m. Off-peak fares will be in effect all day, and parking will be free at Metro-operated facilities.

Metrobus: Bus service will operate on a Sunday schedule on Thanksgiving Day. Customers should check bus timetables for details.

MetroAccess: Service will operate on a regular schedule. However, subscription trips will be canceled. Customers with subscription trips wishing to travel on Monday should call 301-562-5360 option 2, or use the online booking site to make or change a reservation.

Friday, November 23

Metrorail and Metrobus will operate on a regular weekday schedule with normal fare and parking rates in effect.

Saturday and Sunday, November 24 -25

Metrorail will operate normal weekend service on the Green Line. Customers should be aware of service adjustments on the Red Line with trains operating every 10-20 minutes; and on the Orange, Silver, Blue and Yellow Lines every 24 minutes.

Tips for travelers to and from area airports and train station

Washington Dulles International Airport

Metrobus Route 5A provides direct service between Washington Dulles International Airport and L'Enfant Plaza and Rosslyn Metrorail stations. The fare for Route 5A bus service is $7.50 per person ($3.75 for seniors and people with disabilities).

Service to Washington Dulles International Airport is also available by taking the Silver Line to Wiehle-Reston East Station and riding the Silver Line Express bus ($5) or the Fairfax County Connector Routes 981 or 983 ($2.00) between the airport and the rail station.

Baltimore Washington International Airport

The BWI Express/B30 service operates Monday-Friday only and will not operate on Thursday, November 22.

Washington Union Station

Union Station is served by Metrorail's Red Line, providing connections to Amtrak, VRE, MARC and Intercity Bus services.

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport

Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport is served by Metrorail's Blue and Yellow lines.
