Metrobus service changes effective Sunday, December 15, on selected routes

In an effort to improve service, Metro is implementing changes on 28 routes in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia effective Sunday, December 15, 2019. The changes include adjustments to schedules, routes and frequency to account for traffic conditions and meet ridership demands.

Near the National Mall, 30-series buses will be rerouted along 4th Street to Pennsylvania Avenue NW to reduce travel time and improve traffic safety. In Virginia, more buses are being added along Lee Highway between East Falls Church and Downtown D.C. funded through the I-66 Commuter Choice Program, while schedule changes to some Maryland routes will improve service and efficiency.

The changes are consistent with the recommendations of the Bus Transformation Project – a regional effort to improve bus service and increase ridership.
