Media Advisory: Metro and local officials hold news conference on SafeTrack Surge #13

Metro will host a news conference with Virginia officials on Wednesday, March 1, at 1:30 p.m. to discuss the impact of SafeTrack Surge #13, which runs from March 4 through April 9. During the surge, which will be completed in two phases, Blue and Yellow line trains will operate less frequently, particularly at stations south of Reagan National Airport.

Surge #13 is the final surge on the Yellow and Blue lines in Virginia as part of Metro's SafeTrack program, an accelerated track work plan to address safety recommendations and rehabilitate Metrorail infrastructure. SafeTrack significantly expands maintenance time on weeknights, during midday and weekends including "Safety Surges" - long duration track outages for major projects to bring the system into a state of good repair. SafeTrack will conclude in June.

Details regarding Blue/Yellow line service can be found here.
