Public Comment for Board Meetings
The Metro Board of Directors welcomes public comment at each Board Meeting, which are typically held on the fourth Thursday of the month. We have established several new ways to submit comment during this period of "online-only" Board meetings, including video and audio options.
Public comments may be submitted through 9:00 a.m. on the Wednesday prior to a scheduled Board meeting.
Please note that Metro is not yet accepting comments on its Proposed FY2022 Budget and associated service changes. The Budget public comment period will open in mid-January 2021.
By phone: Call us at 202-962-1901 to record your comment. There is a 2 minute limit on recordings and your comment should include your name and jurisdiction of your residence.
Video selfie: Shoot a video message with your mobile phone, keep it under 2 minutes please, and email it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Email: Fill out the web form below. Please limit your comment to 300 words or less. The Board Chair will read emails into the record and reserves the right to summarize emails that exceed the 300-word limit.
Public comments will be read in the order they are received. Board members may refer matters to the GM/CEO for investigation or follow-up. Comments with derogatory or discriminatory language will be disregarded. The Board also cannot accept comments related to individual employee personnel issues, claims against Metro or disputes concerning the award or administration of specific contracts.
The public comment period will be limited to ten minutes. Any comments remaining at the end of this period will be summarized at the discretion of the Board Chair.
