Public Comment for Board Meetings

The Metro Board of Directors welcomes public comment at each Board Meeting, which are typically held on the fourth Thursday of the month except for March, August, November and December (2024 Board Calendar). Now that Board meetings have resumed in-person, we've expanded the options to provide comments.

In-Person: Metro Board of Directors meetings are conducted in the Board Room at Metro's Headquarters building at L'Enfant Plaza - 300 7th Street, SW in Washington, DC. Individuals wishing to provide in-person public comments must sign up at the Speaker registration table, located outside of the Board Room entrance, before the start of the meeting. You will have two minutes to provide comments.

You may continue to submit audio and video comments.

Audio Comments: Call us at 202-962-1901 to record your comment.  Or, record a voice memo on your phone and e-mail it to speak@wmata.com. There is a two-minute limit on recordings and your comment should include your name and jurisdiction of your residence.

Video: Shoot a video message with your mobile phone, keep it under 2 minutes please, and email it to speak@wmata.com. Your comment must include your name and jurisdiction of your residence.

Comments with derogatory, threatening or discriminatory language will be disregarded.

Audio and video public comments must be submitted by 9:00 a.m. on the Wednesday prior to a scheduled Board meeting.

Public comments will be presented in the order they are received.  Board members may refer matters to the GM/CEO for investigation or follow-up. The Board also cannot accept comments related to individual employee personnel issues, claims against Metro or disputes concerning the award or administration of specific contracts.

The public comment period will be limited to 10 minutes. Any comments remaining at the end of this period will be summarized at the discretion of the Board Chair. Public comments will be posted on our website by the next business day following the Board Meeting.
