Metrobus passes
Metrobus passes are date-specific. They are valid during the dates indicated on the pass. Weekly passes are good from Sunday through Saturday.
Metrobus Weekly Pass $11
Valid for a full week of unlimited travel regionwide on regular
Metrobus routes. It's valid for $1.25 off the $3.00 fare on express
routes.

Valid for a full week of unlimited rides on all Metrobus routes,
regular and express.

Weekly Senior Pass $6
Valid for a full week of unlimited rides on all Metrobus routes,
regular and express.
Metrobus/Metrorail passes
SmartStudent
Pass
A $26-a-month pass for elementary and secondary school students who
live and go to school in Washington, D.C. The pass is good for
unlimited travel on Metrobus and Metrorail for school or school-related
events.
Passes are on sale at Metro sales
offices and selected schools in the District of Columbia. For
more information, contact the Office of Mass Transit's School Transit
Subsidy Program at 202/673-1740.
Metrorail passes
All Metrorail passes are gate-activated. The faregate activates
the pass the first time it is used and prints the last valid date
on the pass.
One Day Pass $7.80

Valid for one day of unlimited Metrorail travel on weekdays
after 9:30 a.m. or all day on Saturdays, Sundays and some federal holidays (unlimited Metrorail travel begins after 9:30 a.m. on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Columbus Day, and Veterans Day).
Pass expires at the end of the operating day3 a.m. on Fridays
and Saturdays, midnight on other nights.
7-Day Short Trip Pass $26.40
Valid for seven consecutive days for Metrorail trips costing up to $2.65 between 5-9:30 a.m. and 3-7 p.m. on weekdays. If the trip costs more than $2.65, you must use the Exitfare machine to pay the additional fare. The pass is valid for any rail trip at other times. The pass will be returned for continued use during the valid period.
7-Day Fast Pass $39
Valid for seven consecutive days of unlimited Metrorail travel
Metrorail farecard
You
need a pass or farecard to ride Metrorail. Farecards hold from
$1.35 to $45. Farecards are available at fare vending machines
in the stations (information
on buying farecards at stations) or you can buy farecards worth $10 or $20 online.
Student farecards are available to District students at $8 for 10 trips.
Other ways to pay
SmarTrip
card
A permanent, rechargeable farecard that can hold up to $300
in Metrobus, Metrorail and Metro parking value. The card costs
$5 and can be recharged like a farecard. For more information,

Metrocheks
Metrocheks are available in denominations of $1, $5, $10, $20
and $30. These exchangeable vouchers are accepted by more than
100 different transportation servicestrains, buses and van
poolsthroughout the region. New federal tax laws allow employees
to buy Metrochekup to $110 per monthfrom their employer
via a pre-tax payroll deduction. For more information, see the Metrochek

DC student tokens
Student tokens, good for one ride on regular (non-express)
Metrobus routes, are sold in packs of 10 for $6.25 (each token has a value of 62.5¢).
To ride express buses using tokens, riders must pay the difference
between the regular and express fare.
Maryland students ride free
Students ride free on Metrobus and Ride-On buses when boarding in Montgomery or Prince Georges' counties between 2 and 7 p.m., Monday - Friday. To ride free, students must show either a school ID or a student bus pass signed by their school principals.
Adult tokens
Adult tokens, good for one ride on regular (non-express) Metrobus
routes, cost $1.35 each. They are sold in packs of 10 for $13.50.
To ride express buses using tokens, riders must pay the difference
between the regular and express fare.
Transit Link Card (TLC) works like a monthly pass on MARC and VRE and gives you unlimited Metrorail rides for a full month. The TLC also covers up to $1.25 of Metrobus rides, and is valid wherever Metro runs in Virginia, Maryland or the District of Columbia. TLC is available on the Internet at www.CommuterDirect.com and at the Commuter Stores at Ballston, Rosslyn and Crystal City.
