Weekend service adjustments November 8-11 (Veterans Day) for rebuilding

Reconstruction of the Metrorail system will continue over the weekend of November 8-11, with service adjustments beginning at 10 p.m. Friday night and continuing through system closing on Monday (Veterans Day).

This weekend, trains on the Green Line will operate at regular weekend intervals. On the Red Line, buses will replace trains between Shady Grove and White Flint; trains will operate on a regular weekend schedule outside the work zone. On the Orange, Blue and Yellow lines, trains will run every 20 minutes.

Veterans Day service information: On Monday, November 11, Metrorail will open at 5 a.m. and close at midnight. Service will be adjusted for scheduled rebuilding on the Red, Orange, Blue and Yellow lines as described below. Metrobus runs on a Saturday supplemental schedule. Parking at all Metro-owned lots and garages is free on Veterans Day.

Metro is investing $5.5 billion to install new rail, ties, platforms, escalators, signals, lighting, communication systems, and more. It represents the largest capital investment -- and work effort -- since the system's original construction in the early 1970s.
