Green Line weekend service changes May 17-19

Friday, May 17 at 10 p.m. through system closing Sunday, May 19

Green Line trains will operate between West Hyattsville and Branch Ave throughout the weekend.

Train frequency: Regular weekend service intervals.

Stations closed: Greenbelt, College Park and Prince George's Plaza.

Shuttle buses replace trains between Greenbelt and West Hyattsville

  • Free shuttle buses will replace Green Line trains between Greenbelt and West Hyattsville.
  • Local buses will operate between Greenbelt and West Hyattsville, stopping at College Park and Prince George's Plaza; add up to 35 minutes additional travel time.

About this rebuilding work
Crews will perform track upgrades, including tie and insulator renewal, interlocking maintenance, and work associated with construction of a new test track for 7000-series railcars.

This ongoing effort to rebuild and upgrade the Metrorail system to provide safer and more reliable service is part of Metro Forward, a six-year, $5 billion Capital Improvement Program (CIP) that is focused on safety and bringing the Metro system into a state of good repair.
