Bethesda: Entrance elevator out of service for major rehabilitation

The entrance elevator at Bethesda Station is currently out of service for major rehabilitation. The elevator is expected to return to service in December 2012.

This is the first major rehabilitation for the Bethesda entrance elevator since the station opened in 1984, and is a necessary step before beginning full replacement of the three entrance escalators at the station.  During the project, technicians will replace all critical components of the elevator, including the cab, motor and control systems.

During the project, free shuttle bus service will be available for customers between Medical Center and Bethesda. To request a shuttle, please see a Station Manager or call (202) 962-1825.  In addition, customers can use Metrobus routes J2 and J3 to travel between Bethesda and Medical Center.
