Green Line weekend track work May 4-6: Buses replace trains between Greenbelt and Fort Totten
Metro's efforts to rebuild the Green Line will continue over the weekend of May 4-6. The work will begin at 10 p.m. Friday, May 4 and continue through system closing on Sunday, May 6.
Buses will replace trains between Greenbelt and Fort Totten to allow for NTSB-recommended switch replacement. The following 4 stations will be closed:
Green Line trains will operate normally between Fort Totten and Branch Avenue.
Customers using shuttle bus service should add up to 50 minutes to their travel time. Customers who normally drive and park at Greenbelt should consider using New Carrollton Station on the Orange Line as an alternate.
Last Train Information
On Friday night, the last trains to operate through the work zone will be:
On Friday and Saturday nights, the last southbound Green Line train will depart Fort Totten at 2:42 a.m. to allow for connections at L'Enfant Plaza. The last northbound Green Line train will depart L'Enfant Plaza at 3:13 a.m. and arrive at Fort Totten at 3:29 a.m.
On Sunday night, the last southbound Green Line train will depart Fort Totten at 11:42 p.m. to allow for connections at L'Enfant Plaza. The last northbound Green Line train will depart L'Enfant Plaza at 12:13 a.m. and arrive at Fort Totten at 12:29 a.m.
Note: Due to Green Line track work, Yellow Line trains will operate between Mt. Vernon Square and Huntington only.
