We are committed to being an integral part of the Washington metropolitan area by ensuring the best in safe, reliable, cost-effective and responsive transit services, by promoting regional mobility and by contributing toward the social, economic and environmental well-being of our community.

Safety and security are the top priorities in all WMATA activities. We promote an accident free, clean and secure passenger environment and a safe, secure and healthful workplace. We are committed to continuous improvement in safety, security and related performance.

Our job is to move people, and we exist to serve our customers. Customer service drives our planning, decision making and use of resources. We listen to our customers and strive to be proactive in our pursuit of customer satisfaction. We commit to providing service that is safe, clean, reliable, courteous and of excellent value.
