The “Speak Up! It’s Your Ride” public outreach campaign was created as Metro develops an official Public Participation Plan as part of new FTA regulations for Title VI. Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prohibits discrimination in the provision of federally funded services to individuals on the basis of race, color, or national origin. Every three years Metro submits a Title VI Program, including a Public Participation Plan, to the Federal Transit Administration to demonstrate compliance with Title VI. While establishing this formal plan is regulatory, Metro sees this as an opportunity to build two-way communication with all customers.
The "Speak Up! It's Your Ride" survey is now closed. Check back here in late summer 2014 for updates on the Public Participation Plan.
