Gallery Place-Chinatown Station
The Yellow Line, 1989
Constance Fleures
Wall sculpture with neon

The Yellow Line, by Virginia artist Constance Fleures, is located at the Gallery Place-Chinatown station on the Red, Green and Yellow Lines in the District of Columbia. The abstract wall sculpture uses geometric patterns, quick brush strokes and neon to convey high energy and rapid movement. The sculpture captures the force and speed of Yellow Line trains as they rush through the beautiful geometry of the Metrorail system. The project was funded in part by the D.C. Commission on the Arts and Humanities.
