Better Bus

Metrobus Service Changes, Beginning December 14

On Sunday December 14, 2014, changes are coming to some Metrobus routes that serve the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia in order to reduce crowding, shorten wait times and improve on-time performance in a continuing effort to bring you a Better Bus experience.  Most of these changes will include schedule adjustments to existing service, and we encourage customers to view the partial list of new timetables. Check back later for a comprehensive list.

  • In the District of Columbia, Route 37 buses will be rerouted to temporary stops while the Friendship Heights Bus terminal is being repaired.  Eastbound Route 96 buses will detour around the Supreme Court building.

  • In Maryland, changes will be made to some limited-stop service on specific segments of the routes.  Route 84 will be renamed T14. Routes T14 and T18 will add a limited-stop segment between Rhode Island Avenue Metrorail Station and Mount Rainier. Route P17, P19 and W13 will add a limited-stop segment between the Capital Beltway and Nationals Park. New Route Y2 service will operate between Silver Spring, Olney and Medstar Montgomery Medical Center.

  • In Virginia, repairs to the Dunn Loring Bus Bay will be completed and buses will resume service. Westbound Route 28X p.m. trips will be rerouted to serve Tysons Corner Metrorail Station before arriving at Tysons Corner Center.
