Revisions to the amended Public Access to Records Policy (PARP) and the proposed Privacy Policy based on public comment
In the Fall of 2004, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) proposed amendments to the Public Access to Records Policy (PARP) to align the PARP more closely with the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). WMATA also proposed a Privacy Policy to protect the privacy expectations of persons who are the subject of records. From December 17, 2004, through February 14, 2005, we posted these proposed policies on our website and received public comment. We received eight comments, and staff provided responses to each comment, and revised the proposed policies.
Some commenters have asked for the opportunity to review our revisions based on public comment. Therefore, we have now posted the amended PARP and proposed Privacy Policy, which include staff-recommended revisions based on public comment. We have also posted a matrix of the comments received and staff’s recommendations in response to the comments.
We will be receiving final comments from April 4 through April 15, 2005.
To submit comments, email to comments@wmata.com or send to the Office of General Counsel, WMATA, 600 5th St., N.W., Washington, D.C. 20001.
