Stop & Go for Garrett A. Morgan, by Washington, D.C. artist Athena Tacha, will be located at the future Morgan Boulevard station on the Blue Line in Prince George's County, Maryland. The sculpture will be integrated into the station's plaza. Stop & Go was designed to evoke images of the original stop and go sign invented by African-American inventor, Garrett. A. Morgan. The color tile paths inset in the plaza pavement will represent the colors of Metrorail lines. Animated stop and go lighted signs will be installed where the color lines intersect. Seating and planters will be incorporated into the plaza design. Morgan Boulevard station opens in 2004. | ||||
