Metro - Severe weather service levels
Metro makes every effort to operate the bus and rail system during adverse weather. But if normal service cannot be operated safely, Metro adjusts its service to service levels appropriate to the severity of the weather.
Each service level is intended to be used system-wide. However, as weather conditions dictate, different service levels may be applied for sub-regions and/or on various lines of the rail system.
Metro's six service levels are defined in general terms below, to assist customers in determining what to expect and how best to use Metro in for each of the service six service levels.
In the event of severe weather, please check Metro's homepage or phone customer information at 202/637-7000 to learn Metro's current operating status. Also see the Guide to using Metro in a snowstorm.
