What Trackwork Are We Doing?
This weekend, Metro will perform maintenance and repairs on two of six lines. On the Green Line, trains will single track through the work zones and shuttle buses replace trains on segments of the Red Line between Rhode Island Ave and Takoma stations.
On the Red Line, Metro will replace ties and prepare for the summer shutdown. That involves replacing switch gears, vegetation removal, and installing fiber-optic cables that aid in two-way communications for customers and the Metro Transit Police Department. On the Green Line, between Naylor Road and Branch Avenue, crews will perform tie renewal, deck waterproofing, and grout repairs.
